In part 7 of my collection posts I'm going to show you a few nail polishes that create a special effect on the nails. Here are my definitions of these finishes:
Crackle - nail polish that consolidates when it dries. It rips up the surface irregularly in its wake. Depending on the color of the crackle polish as well as color and finish of the base polish it can create an awesome effect. Some have to be applied to bone-dry base colors, some to dry-to-the-touch base colors. Usually there's a learning curve involved.
Spotted - nail polish that consolidates when it dries und creates round spots. These have to be applied in *very thin* coats to bone-dry base colors. The learning curve with this finish is even steeper than with crackle polish.
Fluorescence - nail polish that charges up when exposed to a light source (sunlight, daylight, light bulbs) and glows in low-light situations or near darkness, emitting the priorly charged light.
A note before we start:
This series about my nail polish collection is a request from my readers. I show them willingly because I get a lot of joy and satisfaction out of them but I don't mean to brag about it. I paid for all of the polishes with my hard-earned money (apart from maybe a handful of lovely gifts from friends and RAOK) and quite a lot have been swapped for (in which cases I still paid shipping for the other swapper's end of our deal). I didn’'t receive any PR samples. I have always been able to pay my bills and maintain a nice life while pursuing this hobby.
So, while I hope my readers will enjoy this series and I definitely kept my sanity in this crazy photographing spree I also hope that you leave friendly comments. If you can't enjoy this type of posts please close this page in your web browser and go elsewhere.
Thank you for reading!
